BarNest Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

BarNest is built strictly around a 100% Local-First architecture. Your privacy and personal data never leave your Mac.

Data Handled by the App

BarNest does not send your installed application list, menu bar items, user preferences, or device activity to any developer or remote servers. It requires no online account and contains zero third-party tracking, advertising, or telemetry SDKs.

Permissions Used

BarNest requests macOS Accessibility permission exclusively to calculate the physical geometry and screen layout of menu bar items so that it can fold and protect them from notch cutoff. It never logs keystrokes or inspects window contents.
